Upon waking: As soon as you wake up, drink a glass of warm water mixed with freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 1-2 tablespoons).
Breakfast: Blueberry boost smoothie
Snack: One serving of almonds or walnuts and cucumber slices
Lunch: Vegetable Smoothie and cucumber and carrot salad
Snack: Dandelion root tea and an apple
Dinner: Simple Detox Chicken Soup (1 to 2 cups); cucumber and carrot salad
Before Bed: Drink a cup of dandelion root tea
Be sure to hydrate throughout the day with filtered water.
Quick Fatty Liver Detox Recipes
- 2 stalks of celery
- A handful of kale
- 3 beets
- A piece of ginger
- 4 lemons, juice squeezed
- Honey to taste
- Dash Cayenne pepper
Mix all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Add filtered water as needed for a smoother consistency. Drink cool.
Blueberry Boost Smoothie
- 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk (or more if you want a smoother consistency)
- 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
- 1 cup fresh blueberries or ½ to 1 cup wild frozen blueberries (wild blueberries have a higher anti-oxidant level than cultivated)
- 1 cup of spinach
- ½ cup of kale
- 1 tablespoon of ground flax seeds
Blend and enjoy.
Cucumber and Carrot Salad
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 medium-sized carrot
- 1 cucumber, sliced
- 2 teaspoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Toss and serve chilled.
Quick Liver Detox Chicken Soup
Makes 4 one-cup servings
- 32 ounces (1 Box) of chicken broth
- 1 small onion (chopped)
- 1 cup of carrots (chopped)
- 1 cup of celery (chopped)
- 1 cup of cooked chicken (white meat)
- Black pepper to taste
Simmer broth, onion, carrots, celery, chicken and pepper for 20-30 minutes.
If you prefer, you can sauté the onion, carrots and celery until soft and then simmer in the broth with the rest of the ingredients.
